Welcome to the Christchurch Photographic Society

We welcome everyone with an interest in photography. Level of experience or type of camera doesn’t matter. We have members who are totally new, and others who are successful international exhibitors.

With the club having over 150 members, interested in all aspects of photography, you are bound to find someone with similar interests and learn something new.

We have weekly meetings on Wednesdays. These include tutorials, competitions, presentations from photographers, and celebrations of our members’ achievements.

If this sounds of interest, click below and come along to our next Wednesday meeting.

PSNZ - National Convention 2020

The impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has forced PSNZ Council to evaluate our responsibility in hosting an event that will bring over 200 delegates and overseas presenters to the convention.

Taking all known factors into consideration it is with much regret that Council, in conjunction with the Christchurch organising committee, has made the decision to cancel this year’s national convention, that was scheduled to be held in Christchurch on 23 – 26 April, 2020.

Paramount to this decision is the health and wellbeing of delegates and members.

It has been incredibly difficult to come to this final decision, as I realise it effects other components of a national convention, i.e. the AGM, trade stands, SONY National Exhibition and the CR Kennedy Honours banquet.

We are currently discussing the best way to manage the announcement of the SONY National Exhibition and Honours results with the key personnel involved with each event.

Thank you for your understanding.
