Portrait Workshop (7:15 PM New Zealand Standard Time)
Wednesday 30th of August Starting at 7:15 PM PORTRAIT WORKSHOP Practice making portraits under the guidance of the club’s experienced portrait photographers. Be prepared to "change shoes" and be a model for another photographer and experience what it’s like to be directed by someone else. Take turns to model and shoot. Bring your camera and a flash if you have one, practice what you have learnt in the recent flash light tutorials with Nelson. There will be some lights provided. Gather your ideas before coming, get creative, bring any special props that you would like to use. For example: hats, scarfs, glasses, fans, masks, umbrellas... or fruits, flowers, lace, a cigar, a book, a mirror, a glass ball, a magnifying glass, etc. … It will be a relaxed and instructive ‘fun’ evening.  See you there! delete

Tutorial – Black & White (7:15 PM New Zealand Standard Time)
CPS Wed 6th Sept – 7.15pm “Photograph Like an Artist Using Black & White” John Suckling has a strong interest in design. He is a CPS member (over 10 years) and addressed members two years ago with his examples. This lead to several members developing successful b&w images. He does not normally enter competitions but two years ago he entered the print competition and won both the black and white print competition and the overall print competition for that year. Tomorrow’s session (First of Two) will be about using black and white creatively. The title for this session will be “Photograph Like an Artist Using Black & White”. He will show his original images along with the finished image and explain how this was achieved. Then in the second session, two weeks later (Sept 20th) will look more closely at the technical side using software. delete

Put it together either as a physical thing (book, folio, poster....) or as a multi page PDF. Then submit it on Wednesday 13th September (an extra week on from the program), at CPS. If you make a PDF then you can just email or dropbox it to Ian Walls at ian.c.walls@gmail.com delete
