  4. 4. I will deduct 10 points if the photo is taken before 6:30 pm today.
  5. 5. Do not get in trouble with the law or your neighbors.
  6. 6. Entry links disappear at 10:30 pm!
  7. 7. Photoshop or other editing is OK.
  8. 8. HAVE FUN!

Team or Individual Participation

You can go it alone or get together with a group. Individual participants will compete against other individuals, and teams vs. teams when it comes time to hand out the chocolate fish. Be aware that we expect teams to all be working together in the same place. If you cant meet this requirement as a team, you will need to be creative to get a waiver. You do not need to register ahead of time as we have ways of knowing.

Any member of the team can upload the image for any given topic. Make sure you know who is doing what because if we see more than 1 entry in a topic from members of the same team, all images in the topic from that team will get zero points.

And the Scavenger Hunt Topics are...

A1 Team or Self Portrait
This entry is MANDATORY so I can sort out the competitors.
Everyone's membership number must be legible in the photo.
+5 points if everyone is wearing coordinated or crazy hats.
A2 Corner Store
The corner dairy, takeaway or convenience store.
+5 points if the attendant is in the photo and knows it.
(an exercise in environmental portraits)
A3 Dessert
I am craving something sweet!
+5 points if the same as what I had last night.
(an exercise in still life)
A4 Orange Road Cone(s)
Easy to find, but tell me the story.
+5 points for fresh flowers in a cone.
(an exercise photojournalism)
A5 Park Bench
Seat with a view, interesting occupants or just lonely.
(an exercise in composition)
A6 City Bus
+5 points if the driver is waving at the camera.
(an exercise in street photography)
A7 Three Chairs
No more, no less. No need to match, but make it interesting.
(an exercise in composition)
A8 Photography Book
Surely everyone has one or more of these around!
+5 points if I see my favorite.
(an exercise in guessing my library)

How To Enter

You can only enter the Scavenger Hunt using the Online Entry system. The topic links in the table will take you directly to the page for each topic. Alternately, you can find them all listed in the enter online menu item within the members area.

If you are a current CPS member, you can login using the Members Area link and find your way to the competition entry pages using the menu selections.

How it's Scored

All images for each topic will be ranked from favorite to not so favorite by a judge. The top image will be awarded points equal to the number of entries in the topic. The second best image will get one less point. So, if topic A has 38 entries, the winner will get 38 points. The 2nd image will get 37 points and so on.

The person and team with the highest point total over all topics will be awarded the proverbial chocolate fishes.
